Breaking Bad in Legos
AllRightRamblers Best Television of 2011
3. Louie Season 2 - Louis CK’s show on FX is brilliant. He has found a new way to connect to the audience. By accepting much less money from FX to make the show, the station keeps their hands off the product and Louis CK is able to do whatever he wants. If you enjoy comedy and aren’t watching this show, you are cheating yourself.
2. American Horror Story - Not so much a scary show as it is a mind fuck, American Horror Story was a surprise to me. I was certain I was going to hate this show but I gave it a shot just because Connie Britton was in it and Friday Night Lights was amazing. I can see a lot of people not liking this show but if you enjoyed Twin Peaks, give it a shot. I am interested to see what next season brings as it will be a whole new story with all new characters.
1. Breaking Bad Season 4 - Breaking Bad is in my list of best shows ever and season 4 was the best of the series. Every episode left me wanting more. The finale was incredible and rewarding. I can’t wait to see how they wrap up this story next year.
ARR TV Show of the Year goes to Breaking Bad Season 4
Other shows that might have made the list had I had a chance to watch them: Homeland and Game of Thrones
Weekly Wrap-Up - So I seem to have a lot of extra time on my hands lately so I thought I would share what new and interesting things I have discovered over the past week that have interested me. What I’ve been playing, watching, or reading.
1) Ghost Adventures on Netflix - Oh my god, this show is an unintentional comedy gold mine. This show which airs on the Travel channel has 3 guys locking themselves in the country’s most haunted locations overnight and filming what happens. The main hunter, Zak, is a huge douche bag. His gelled up hair, tight t-shirts, and constant fist bumps has resulted in Holly dubbing the show “Ghost Shore”. Zak’s hunting tactic involves provoking ghosts. There are countless shots of him just yelling out to nothing telling them how he doesn’t like bullies and wants the ghosts to come out and get him. I am also a big fan of any time they hear a voice off in the distance, Zak will freak out shouting to the other guys asking if they heard it. The minute one of them tries to answer him he shushes them. The first episode of the second season goes to a whole other level when Zak ends up getting possessed. The show is a wonderful joke that these 3 guys don’t seem to be included on. Add it to your Netflix queue here.
2) Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light - This game could be some of the most fun local multplayer I have played since Goldeneye on N64. It is unlike any previous Tomb Raider games that I know of. You control one of two character both with very different abilities. Lara has a grappling hook and hand guns while Totec has a shield and javelins. Lara can create a tight rope with the grappling hook that Totec can walk across while Totec can throw the javelin into walls that Lara can climb up on. The game is full of puzzles that can only be solved by utilizing both characters unique abilities. Holly and I have had a blast playing this game. This is a $15 arcade title on XBox 360, PS3, and PC. Check out the combat heavy trailer here.
3) Red Letter Media Reviews Of Star Wars - This guy has reviewed and analysed the 3 prequels of Star Wars, some Star Trek movies, and Avatar in depth and posted the reviews on YouTube. Each review runs between 1 to 1 1/2 hours. So far I have watched the reviews for Episode 1 and 2 and this guy goes to great lengths to show that George Lucas is an idiot and really had no idea what he was doing with the prequels. He points out countless inconsistencies, plot holes, and errors in basic film making. You can learn a lot about the move making process by watching these reviews. The only draw back is while the reviewer’s character can be funny at times, portraying himself as a pizza-roll fueled slob, he has a story going on throughout the reviews about how he kills women in his basement. If you can ignore these uncomfortable attempts at humor, there is a lot of interesting stuff to be found. All Red Letter’s reviews can be found on his site, here
